Quarrel Between Servants & First Meet between Romeo and Juliet
The nurse tells me that Gregory and Sampson had a fight today on the streets of fair Verona with the servants of the Montague household. I do not understand why my father as well as the Montague holds such ancient grudge. It happened ages ago, why do we hate them so much? Anyhow, the fight held such a big attention that Prince Escalus had to intervene. He dictated that if the Capulet and/or Montague ever were to find again, their punishment will be dead. My mother honored me with her company today, which, by the way, it is very rare. She let Nurse stay after seconds of consideration, not a surprise because we are not at all close. At any rate, she spoke to me about Paris’ marriage proposal to me. Of courser I told her I would look to like but only as far as her consent will give it strength to make it fly. I have to go not. The guests are arriving and Nurse wants me to get ready.
